Spinning outfit with fly hooks?

I know it's a stupid question, but is it possible to use fly lures on a spinning outfit? Just by keeping it suspended from a float?.
Again, stupid question, but it just occurred to my mind.

I'm a fly fisherman, so naturally a fly rod springs to mind, but there's nothing stopping you from using a small bubble float, with a nymph suspended from it. Just make sure that there is a good sized hook-length, maybe 4 ft from the fly and the bobber. Give the pheasant tail nymph a try and also a hares ear as they represent a whole variety of different aquatic organisms. A gold head or tungsten headed version would also give you some weight and help it sink. Experiment by altering the depth you fish it at.

If your fishing a weedy area cast into holes in the weed as very often trout will be in these weeds and will take a small simple fly presented to them.
