pheasant hunting tips?
i am going pheasant hunting tomorrow morning at about 6 am. ive been out about 4 times so far and no luck. i have a pheasant call but im not getting any calls back, should it only be used in the morning? anyone have any tips? and no i do not have a hunting dog.
The areas I live in and have hunted the season isn't even open until at least 9am and later in other areas that I have hunted. As far as calling pheasants,I've never heard of it.I have seen a few mouth operated units called pheasant flushers and when I was very young I tried them and figured out what the flusher part of the title was for.......flush it down the toilet. My best advice for hunting pheasants is lots of walking in good phesant habitat areas.Go slow and make noise. It is much easier with a dog as phesants for the most part will run easier than they will flush. It isn't a easy sport by yourself and without a dog, but it can be done with lots of walking.
