How can I find out his shirt size without asking?
I need my boss' shirt size for a gift that someone wants to give him. I don't want to stand too close to him though, because he is very guarded.
Start a conversation about peoples collar sizes, mine is 15.5 inches, or you could do what one of the others suggested, speak to come one with a similar body shape in the office, but be ware, the collar sizes are a lot more tricky, they go in half inches and a small change can be uncomfortable, i would start a joke about how large my sons/ wife's/ husbands/ friends neck is as they play rugby, whatever, and ask him what his size is...
